The Missing Children are a group of children who were kidnapped from Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and murdered by William Afton. Upon dying, their souls became attached to the core animatronic crew of Freddy, Bonnie, Foxy, Chica, and Golden Freddy. During the climax of The Silver Eyes, the animatronics chased Charlie through the abandoned pizzeria.

John, Jessica, and Clay Burke went to see Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy inside of Clay's basement to save Charlie from William Afton (who is now referred as Springtrap), Twisted Freddy, Twisted Wolf and Twisted Bonnie. When John crouched down in front of Golden Freddy ,and he saw a little spark of light. John knew that Golden Freddy was still possessed by their old friend Michael Brooks and the children that were murdered by William Afton. When John tried to convince the animatronics to help them find and rescue Charlie, he had mentioned Afton's name. The four main animatronics suddenly began to twitch and shake violently on the floor. Jessica first appears in Chapter 1, where she is driving her car, she then sees John, and asks him if he can meet up with her and the group at Carlton's house. John reluctantly accepts, and Jessica drives away. Marla first appears in Chapter 2, she is at Carlton's house, along with Jessica and Carlton. By the time John arrives, they are excited that he came. The group then starts to talk about Charlie, and how she's different lately.The next day, Jessica and her friends attend the scholarship's launch ceremony at their old school, where Michael's parents give a speech about him. They rushed to the doorway to meet her just as she walked in. Arty seemed confused, his mouth opened slightly and his brow furrowed. John watched for a steady moment, then turned away decisively, facing across the table with a grave expression. He didn’t speak until Arty met his gaze. “That’s not Charlie.”

John went on a date with Charlotte after she was with Clay, talking about the dead man's body out in the field. He went with Charlotte to eat at a Thai restaurant he invited her to. Marla appears in the final chapter, where she meets John, Jessica, and Arty at a diner. The four of them talk about Charlie and her death. Just then, the four of them see "Charlie" but in an altered appearance, coming to the diner. Marla and Jessica happily run up to her, while Arty and John remained at the booth confused.

Jessica is then later encountered by Baby Crawlers. Jessica manages to fight them off, by tossing them into the ball pit. Then Jessica, Marla, and the three kids were able to make an escape. years later, his parents decided to commemorate the anniversary of this tragedy, leaving a scholarship dedicated to Michael.
