If you end up with many identical mushrooms (for example, there are ten Honey fungus cards), you might be able to add multiple Butters or Cidres. The requirements apply to each card. A material for the growth of fungi for experiments is called a medium. Most commercially prepared media for growing fungi are extracts of plant materials like potatoes. A medium that is specially prepared to contain only the exact nutrients required by one species of fungus is called a "Minimal medium". The choice of growth medium depends on the question that is being asked.

The goal of Fungi is fairly simple: collect and cook mushrooms. To win? Simply have the most flavour points from the creations you’ve cooked.
The aim of the game is for players to collect “forage points” counters. Points from 2 to 4 are collected by creating clusters, as shown on special mushroom cards. Clusters are made by obtaining the required colours of mushrooms in your foraged card collection. However, you can only make clusters when it’s your turn to forage. The number of points you get depends on the number of mushrooms required for a cluster: for example, 4 mushrooms are required for 4 points, which is the highest-value and most difficult cluster to make. All completed clusters are then put in the discard pile. If a player is the first to reach a total of 10 points, they are the winner. Move the dough from the bowl to a working surface, and punch it down. Divide the dough into two balls with a knife, knead each dough ball counting 100 times. You do this by pressing the dough with the palm of one hand while foldind part of it with the other hand, it's fun!
