GoPRO actually brings out a new edition every year, typically with small incremental improvements, and they keep selling two or three editions concurrently. Apart from certain higher resolution options, the three editions are very similar, so you use this article as a guide to the general pros and cons of the system. Why get a GoPro?You don’t need to be able to do a triple cork on a snowboard to have great use for a GoPro. Personally, I don’t constantly do crazy stunts while travelling, so for me, it’s important that an action camera is versatile enough for general use. I have my GoPro for capturing my travels, for vlogging, and for taking photos as well as videos.

If you’re traveling together, then you’ll be able to easily fit at least two people in the shot and fully show whichever amazing travel location is behind you. Similar to the Xenvo and UBeesize Tripod S, the JOBY GorallaPod features bendable legs you can wrap around certain objects for unique viewing angles. This is one of my favorite small GoPro tripods to bring along when camping or hiking.
The initial setup can be a little fiddly – and you will need to rebalance for different camera systems – but once you’ve got the hang of it it’s reasonably straightforward and the shots you can capture with it are easily worth the extra hassle. It’s definitely best for video but it does also shoot good photos. Just keep in mind it doesn’t have zoom or an adjustable aperture.

Now more recently when shooting on 5.2K/5.7K 360° cameras (Fusion and VIRB 360), I’ve been employing the 200GB variants of that, and even a single 256GB one too. Why? I hate running out of space. And with the 360° cameras burning through about 9GB per minute, it’s easy to do so before ya know it.It’s possible to take phenomenal photos with a GoPro, but you do have to play to its strengths a bit. However, it’s important to note that although Xenvo also advertises this GoPro tripod as a cell phone tripod, it doesn’t hold cell phones securely. Therefore, I recommend using another tripod if you plan to record phone footage.
