Beta-glucans: Beta-glucans, especially those with a 1,3/1,6 linkage, have been identified to support the innate immune system. Immune cells like macrophages possess dectin-1 receptors that recognize and interact with beta-1,3/1,6-glucans, leading to enhanced microbial activity, heightened cellular defense, and improved resistance against diseases.
